New sellers in Pakistan ask one question again and again: is eBay better than Daraz for Pakistani sellers?

The honest answer is that they are built for different buyers. Daraz sells to people inside Pakistan, often for cash on delivery. eBay sells to buyers in the UK, the USA and other countries who pay online in pounds and dollars.

Neither is simply better. The right choice depends on where your buyers live, how you will get paid, and how much shipping work you can handle.

What is the real difference between Daraz and global marketplaces?

The real difference is the buyer. Daraz brings you Pakistani buyers who pay low prices and expect cash on delivery and easy returns.

Global sites bring you foreign buyers who pay more. But they expect card payments first, tracked shipping and strict seller standards.

Daraz is the easiest start. You join from Pakistan, list products, and get paid straight into your local account after delivery.

Daraz takes a fee that depends on what you sell, and its seller page says there is no listing fee.

On global platforms you must solve two extra problems: getting money from abroad and posting parcels abroad.

Sellers use Payoneer for the first. For the second, they use couriers and plan postage with care.

Is eBay better than Daraz for Pakistani sellers?

eBay is better than Daraz if your goal is foreign buyers and income in pounds or dollars. It is worse if you want a simple start with local buyers and cash on delivery.

The two platforms reward different kinds of work.

On eBay you can sell to buyers in the UK, the USA and many other countries from one account.

For sellers in many countries, eBay pays out to a linked Payoneer account in US dollars, which can then move to a Pakistani bank. Payoneer currency conversion and withdrawal fees apply when moving USD to a Pakistani bank, so budget for that step.

Buyers expect clear photos, honest condition notes and postage within your stated time.

The cost is effort. Postage abroad is costly and slow, unlike local delivery.

How do Amazon, Walmart and Etsy compare with Daraz?

Amazon is the biggest global platform, but the door is stricter than Daraz.

Amazon vs Daraz

Amazon offers huge demand in the USA and UK. It also offers tools like Fulfilment by Amazon that store and ship your stock for you.

In return, Amazon checks your ID with care. Amazon's Professional plan costs $39.99/month. The Individual plan costs $0.99 per item with no monthly fee. Amazon expects fast service.

Amazon does not pay straight into Pakistani bank accounts. So sellers from Pakistan commonly get payouts through a Payoneer account.

Walmart vs Daraz

Walmart Marketplace looks attractive because US buyers trust it, but joining is selective.

Walmart only takes sellers from certain countries, and your business must be set up in one of them. Pakistan is not on that list.

Etsy vs Daraz

Etsy is the home of handmade, vintage and craft style products. Its buyers mostly sit in the USA and Europe.

It suits a seller who makes or designs something special, not common goods. Etsy Payments is available in Pakistan through a Payoneer Payment Account. You will still need to complete Etsy's identity verification.

What about Temu, TikTok Shop and Vinted?

Temu, TikTok Shop and Vinted are popular with buyers, but a Pakistani seller cannot treat them like Daraz.

Each one limits who can sell, and the limit is about your country, not your skill. Check joining rules before you spend a week learning them.

• Temu opens seller accounts country by country, and much of its stock still comes from makers it works with directly. Pakistan is not one of its seller countries today.
• TikTok Shop runs seller centres in a set list of markets, and Pakistan is not listed among them.
• Vinted is a second hand platform that trades inside the countries where it operates, mainly in Europe, the UK and the USA. Pakistan is not one of its countries.

Is Shopify better than Daraz?

Shopify is not a marketplace, so it does not replace Daraz.

Daraz rents you a place inside its market and brings the buyers. Shopify gives you your own shop, and every buyer must be brought by you, through search, social media or ads.

Shopify suits a seller who wants a brand, repeat buyers and full control of prices and buyer data.

The cost is a monthly plan, plus the work of getting traffic. Note that Shopify Payments is not offered in Pakistan, so sellers use another payment service instead.

A common path is Daraz first, then a Shopify shop for repeat buyers once orders are steady.

For most new sellers in Pakistan, that means Daraz first. Sign-up, shipping and payment all work locally, and mistakes are cheap to learn from.

Add a global platform second, once packing, replies and returns feel normal.

Choose eBay for common goods and foreign buyers.

Choose Amazon if you can pass its ID checks and standards.

Choose Etsy only for handmade or design led products. Depth on one platform beats a thin presence everywhere.
